How does a connection arise between bodies without physical contact? And what happens in a space where distance, attention and energy converge?
In Waterkind, the duo Land Before Time explores the relationship between two bodies in constant motion – inspired by the currents, rhythms and ever-changing forms of water. Through improvisation, the dancers unfold a sensory dialogue in which every movement choice arises in response to what has gone before. Closeness and distance become interdependent, and through vibrations and sensitivity, a connection appears that requires no physical contact.
With roots in street dance, freestyle and popping, the work develops a movement language where precision and spontaneity merge. Outbursts and silence alternate in a constant flow, where the bodies negotiate their relationship in the present moment. Waterkind opens a physical reflection on empathy, coexistence and the invisible connections that bind us together. With water serving as both a metaphor and a principle of movement, the work points to broader connections between humanity and nature.
Dansehallerne present Waterkind as part of the festival OPENINGS. With the festival, we open up for top-class international performances and strong national talents. For a wide spectrum of dancing bodies: older bodies, smaller bodies, bodies of different shapes and colors. For the iconic and the surprising. For other perspectives. OPENINGS celebrates the joy of dance and makes dance accessible to everyone.
Waterkind and OPENINGS is part of yes – dance biennale 2026.
