Dansehallerne, situated in Copenhagen with a branch in Aarhus, is a national center for dance and choreography. We are dedicated to cultivating a dynamic and sustainable ecosystem for the art form – locally and globally.
We present and co-produce a diverse range of national and international dance and choreographic performances, offer professional training, facilitate workshops, talks, and events.
As a meeting point for professionals and audiences, Dansehallerne drives artistic development and broad public engagement, and stands as a firm supporter of dance artists – defined by a strong sense of creative urgency at every stage of their production process.
Our ambition is to strengthen the presence and recognition of dance in society. One way we pursue this is by fostering collaborations with partners across Denmark and abroad – working together for a larger scope and a higher goal.
Equally important is our commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding in our curatorial practice and general organizational approach.
Since August 2024, Dansehallerne has been based in a vast, new home in Copenhagen’s Carlsberg City District – a former boiler room for beer production, now passionately transformed into what has been called “something near a cathedral for dance.”
A space that forms a beautiful foundation for choreographic visions, creative networks, and open-hearted encounters between people…
