Joining this workshop means joining a choir. Participants will receive singing lessons as a group, focusing on breath, resonance, and improvisation. We will explore the foundations of group singing and develop choral awareness through exercises that train listening, polyphonic improvisation, and tonal relationships. This choir does not leave its bodies behind, rather its practices continually include the embodiment of voice. We will learn songs and create choir numbers together. At the end of the workshop, we will go demon caroling around the building, searching for places with highly reverberant acoustics.
The classes are held at Dansehallerne, Franciska Clausens Plads 27 DK-1799 Copenhagen V.
Dansehallerne has an elevator with step-free access to all floors. Accessible and gender-neutral toilets and wardrobes are available on the ground floor.
We kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes prior to class in time for check-in with the QR code on your ticket.
All members can participate in Dansehallerne’s training activities – a year-round program with approximately 5 days of training per week and now also workshops every other week. This is for all professional members regardless of background in dance training, and it is also possible to participate in a drop-in class.

Alex Franz Zehetbauer (b. 1990, Brooklyn) is a performance artist and singer -songwriter working at the intersection of theater, music, visual arts and choreography. In his performances, he beguiles with sophisticated melodies, strange vocal escapades, and unexpected twists. Critics have called him: a swamp monster, an angel, and a red-eyed demon. He studied voice, choreography, acting and composition at the Experimental Theater Wing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the International Theater Workshop in Amsterdam. He currently lives in Vienna.
