Principles of safe movement

This workshop will explore the principles of efficient and safe movement practices, providing participants with the practical knowledge necessary to maintain an efficient and sustainable relationship with their bodies on their journey to optimal health. The knowledge gained in this workshop will enable the practitioner to recognise and analyse sub-optimal movement patterns, understand and correct them using simple protocols and integrate these into a variety of situations to the benefit of themselves and their community.
In addition to basic conditioning exercises, corrective protocols for the most common pain conditions and performance obstacles by body region is taught.

Techniques being taught include (but are not limited to):

  • assessment tools for mobility, stability and motor control
  • manual therapy techniques for self-administration, partner and group work
  • nervous system balance techniques (vagus lift, brain connectivity, focus, coordination …)
  • work on body liquids (circulation and lymph protocols …)
  • breath work (diaphragm releases, individualised breathing exercises for specific conditions and nervous system types)
  • practical anatomy and biomechanics in relation to basic postural patterns (walking, crawling, rolling, squatting, pushing, pulling …)
