In Amygdala, the very youngest from 3–24 months and their adults are invited into a sensory, bodily universe, where light, sound and movement unfold as a journey back to our first experiences. We travel through flesh, through thought, through memory.
In Amygdala the heartbeats become rhythms, breath becomes music, and dance opens an enveloping space, where the beginning is not only told, but felt. The audience gets up close to what arises between bodies, sound and light. Amygdala invites us to step into our common beginnings – and to listen to what lies before language: what we may not remember with our minds, but with our bodies.
Amygdala is a poetic dance performance offering a glimpse of the time we all share before we were born.
Back to our very first ability to sense.
Before words.
Before meaning.
Feel the walls around you.
The water.
The sounds.
The light.
Travel backward in time.
Through flesh.
Through memory.
Through sensation.
Back to where sensation began.
