Workshop with Victoria Shulungu & Larissa Koopman of Far From The Norm, the company behind BLKDOG, the opening act of Waves Festival

The Olivier Award-winning choreographer Botis Seva and his powerhouse company, Far From The Norm, bring a specially curated workshop to the Danish dance scene. In this session, led by core Far From The Norm artists, you’ll be pushed to your limits and introduced to the company’s signature style, navigating physical movement through a dynamic blend of dance styles.
The workshop will focus on physical exercises, groove, improvisation, and the development of individual movement.
The company mainly works with Krump, House, Popping, Afro, Hip Hop dance styles – it is usually a blend of these.
The facilitators Victoria and Larissa will bring a stronger focus to Popping, Contemporary dance and movements inspired by Krump and House.
The classes take place at the Waves Festival.

How do I get there?
The train from Copenhagen Central Station takes about 1 hour, followed by a 10-minute walk to Pavillon K.
Are there accommodation options?
If you want to see the Opening Performance and stay overnight for the workshop the following day, it is possible to book a place in a dormitory at a school close to Pavillon K for 35 DKK
(bring your own sleeping mat, pillow and sleeping bag). The hall will not be locked.
It is also possible to rent a camping cabin at Ore Strand Camping, which is located 3 km away from Pavillon K and by the beach. There are also many airbnb options in town.
When is the best time to arrive?
We recommend arriving already on Tuesday August 26th to see the opening performance BLKDOG in the evening, featuring workshop facilitators from Far From the Norm at Vordingborg Theatre.
You are welcome to stay for the entire festival if you wish, or just come in the morning Wednesday August 27th to participate for one day.
