Rosangela Silvestre
Silvestre Technique

An invitation to experience the process of Silvestre Technique with its creator, Rosangela Silvestre, from Salvador da Bahia, Brazil! Silvestre Technique is an evolving contemporary dance technique that conditions and prepares the body, mind and spirit of the dancer to find their potential for expression. Working with “the Body Universe”, symbolized by three triangles on the body, the technique emphasizes the connection of the physical body with the Elements of Nature and the Cosmos.

The technique works to create a dialogue with the body, building form and activating intention in a personal expression, while staying connected to the energy centers of the body and elements of nature.
Regardless of level of dance skills or previous experience, each workshop will open possibilities for you to discover and experience intuition, expression, and balance.

We will dive into a channel of inspiration and experience the archetypal energies that we all have an innate access to, and we will explore how they are experienced in relationship to the elements of nature – Earth, Water, Air and Fire. This class will use gestures and traditional symbols of the Orixa dances as inspiration and to discover archetypal expressions.

Allow yourself to discover and experience how sacred symbolism inspires the body to dance and express itself through the traditional rhythms, archetypes and stories of the Orixas and the ancestral memory in the religion, culture and tradition, as an inspiration and creativity from the African-Brazilian arts.

The classes are held at Dansehallerne, Franciska Clausens Plads 27 DK-1799 Copenhagen V in Studio 3.
