Dansehallerne is more than thrilled to welcome home Mette Ingvartsen during OPENINGS, our new expansive festival for dance. OPENINGS is the first event in Dansehallerne’s brand-new home in the Carlsberg City District.
RUSH is the Danish international star choreographer Mette Ingvartsen’s newest performance. A piece that talks about the pleasure of performing and a solo for Mette Ingvartsen’s long-standing collaborator, Manon Santkin. Together they revisit the unexpected stories that are to be found in between the ten of Mette’s creations that Manon has performed in.
If you have ever seen the work of choreographer Mette Ingvartsen, you might also have come across Manon Santkin, a performer who graduated from P.A.R.T.S. together with Mette and, over the course of the past two decades, took part in ten of her creations. RUSH is a solo by Mette for Manon. It is a tribute to the act of performing, and a celebration of their intense and long-lasting collaboration. Together, they revisit materials and scores from past performances, while reshaping them through storytelling and narration. Out of this effort to ‘rewild’ their shared eco system, their actual artistic practice, emerges a surprising chronology, a rush of energy that reflects upon the pleasures of performing.
OPENINGS
OPENINGS is Dansehallerne’s new, expansive festival for dance. With the festival, we open up for top-class international performances and strong national talents. For a wide spectrum of dancing bodies: older bodies, smaller bodies, bodies of different shapes and colors. For the iconic and the surprising. For other perspectives. OPENINGS celebrates the joy of dance and makes dance accessible to everyone.
Annual pass holders and members have limited ticket capacity and thus booking for OPENINGS. As always, ticket booking is on a first-come, first-served basis.
