Phenomenological Practice is a movement-based approach grounded in philosophy, fostering more profound kinship with both urban and natural environments. This class offers guided and durational experiences that heighten sensory awareness and draw attention to our empirical knowledge through the body. By focusing on the senses of hearing, seeing, and touching, participants are invited to explore how we continuously engage with the spaces around us—both artificial and natural—and how these interactions inform and support various artistic practices. The workshop fosters a deeper sense of presence and embodied understanding, aiming to reconnect participants with their perceptual capacities and the environments they inhabit on a daily basis. Through sustained attention and exploration, this practice supports the development of awareness and creative insight rooted in lived experience.

The classes are held at Dansehallerne, Franciska Clausens Plads 27 DK-1799 Copenhagen V in Studio 4.

Getting there
Studio 4 is located on the ground floor with step-free access from the main entrance.

Dansehallerne has an elevator with step-free access to all floors. Accessible and gender-neutral toilets and wardrobes are available on the ground floor.

We kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes prior to class in time for check-in with the QR code on your ticket.

All members can participate in Dansehallerne’s training activities – a year-round program with approximately 5 days of training per week and now also workshops every other week. This is for all professional members regardless of background in dance training, and it is also possible to participate in a drop-in class.
