Olympia Bukkakis & Maria F. Scaroni
Somatic Drag

Somatic Drag is a concoction of deep somatic competence and drag.
Olympia Bukkakis (the queen) and Maria F. Scaroni (the witch), breed a queer child made of exquisite interoceptive authenticity, politicized felt sense, real personas and cunty marxism.

Bukkakis uses her 16 years experience in drag to teach basic drag techniques as well as more experimental and weird approaches including: lip sync, persona creation, applied/embodied (gender) theory, gendered movement and short form performance developing (making a number).
In the practice, Scaroni guides participants through post-scientific journeys organizing attention around pulsation and connective tissue, to find entry points to collective ecstasy via the built-in technologies of the body (touch, breath, gravity, entrainment a.o.). Dancing is articulated as queer matter, as an exquisite form of misbehavior.

This workshop are held at Dansehallerne, Franciska Clausens Plads 27 DK-1799 Copenhagen V.

Dansehallerne has an elevator with step-free access to all floors. Accessible and gender-neutral toilets and wardrobes are available on the ground floor.

rooted in improvisational practices and altered states of consciousness. She re-purposes postmodern dance legacies towards technologies for mutual empowerment, crossbreeding somatic
practices and anti-oppression frameworks. Maria performs in Meg Stuart’s works with whom
she collaborates since 2009. After collective Lecken, an erogenous queer rave, she has been
hosting Social Pleasure Center, a community space for somatic post-activism.
