From Feldenkrais towards dancing aims at finding ease and pleasure through Feldenkrais practice and to ride on soft waves further into dancing.
Part I Extendedshakingpractice and games
A guided shaking practice will serve as both a dynamic body scanning and a gentle warm up. Followed by a set of movement and coordination games – often in couples – to begin unlocking movement patterns and to introduce playfulness.
Part II Feldenkrais ATM
We’ll practice a short Feldenkrais lesson – an awareness through movement lesson (ATM) – where movement is the tool to practice embodied awareness. Therefore you’ll move slow and with as little effort as possible. This, to enable you to listen and to really get a full sense of the way you move. The idea is to get an embodied understanding of your movement patterns, eliminating access effort and parasitic movement. All this to unlock potentials for movement that is equally free as powerful .
Part III Integration by dancing
We’ll alternately play with short phrases or simple scores to integrate the learning from the ATM into dancing. We’ll play with Feldenkrais based ideas concerning the quality of movement: the ability to reverse, to stop at any given moment and to change direction. All this to reveal and rewire strong and firmly rooted movement habits and to allow your possibilities to expand – with ease, simplicity, pleasure.
