Hip Hop Dance

In the morning training one can expect to explore Hip Hop dancing and tools I apply in my practice of the dance and culture that comes from African and Latin American communities. We will be bouncing, rocking, working on relationship with music, swinging hips, moving our feet and travel across the space while getting the groove on in each part of our body. The work will be both individual and in groups, touching on the ways we can express and explore ourselves, as well as communicate and exchange with each other, for ex.: “1 on 1″ or *cypher”, depending on the amount of people in the class. The level is open, I will give an opportunity to each one to either try a more complicated approach or stay with basic ideas. I would prefer people wearing sneakers as we will be doing footwork, and have interest for Hip Hop music.

The classes are held at KU.BE, Dirch Passers Allé 4, 2000 Frederiksberg in studio: Zen 1.

How to get there?
Zen 1 is located on third floor, please use the backstairs to access the studio.
Go in via the main entrance on first floor, keep going straight ahead towards the changing rooms next to the climbing area on the first floor, open the door in the far end and go up the stairs until you arrive on the third floor. Zen 1 is through the door on your right side.

Accessibility requires a little extra preparation. The studios are equipped for wheelchair users. It is possible to use the lift for access up to the 3rd floor. If you wish to use this, please let us know in advance, as the studio you have to go through via the lift is sometimes booked.
We kindly ask you to meet up 15 minutes prior to class, so there is time for “self check in” with your QR code on the ticket.

Only as a member, you can take part in Dansehallerne’s training activities – a year-round program with approximately 5 days of training per week. This is for all professional members no matter background in dance training, and it is possible to drop in. International guests can also join training for free for up to 1 month.

As an artist, I navigate the realms of dance and choreography, weaving a tapestry that harmonizes the contrasting energies of nature and robotics. Experience gained through a degree in Sociology, leads me to delve into diverse topics, deconstructing their essence through interdisciplinary lenses. Drawing on my background in Slavic and Baltic folk dances, alongside the street dance culture, it’s socio-political aspects and importance of context, my artistry becomes my education. Being a member of street dance community involved me in a lifelong study where I learnt by doing, travelled to almost all countries in Europe, USA, Brazil for knowledge, techniques of styles, history, sessions, building bridges with different communities and engage in battles. Some battles I won, some battles I lost, some battles I judged, in some spaces I participated as an audience. At the moment I work as a dancer & self-producing choreographer. My commitment extends beyond personal expression, embracing community collaboration, notably with CLASHcph where I have been a member and artistic director since 2014. website: ig: anastasija.olez ig: staze_ao
