Tiny Dancer

Join our journey! What happens when the dancer opens her magic suitcase? And when the musician plays his whimsical instruments?

With ‘YEM + LAB’, a dancer and a musician move into the day care institution for a day, with all their suitcases. Together, we create a day full of dance and music activity: The interactive performance ‘YEM’ and the laboratory.

In the performance, we welcome you into our suitcase universe as we travel in different soundscapes, creating music with our movements – and putting thoughts, feelings and inner images into movement.

In the laboratory, we visit your group rooms, building imaginative spaces out of suitcases, initiating games. As we continue to the next group room, the play continues. There are three different laboratories: The mountain, the city, and the river.

The precise program of the day is agreed upon with the artists prior to their visit.

Mette Møller Overgaard (DK), a dance artist, is focusing her choreographic practice in projects based on the physical, social and creative experiences of the participants. Working in the intersection between different art forms, she often works site specifically. She is a very experienced teacher and facilitator of projects with young children. Abraham Rademacher(DK/SP), a performing and music artist trained and experienced in a variety of genres: acrobatics, physical theater, opera, musicals, dance theater and concerts. David Navndrup Black (DK/UK), a sound artist, has movement and technology at the core of work. Collaborating with artists from other professions, he gives new sensory acquaintances with well-known places, using percussion and technology to create different sound experiences for and with children.
