Mari is currently exploring groove and flow in her class.
She guides the dancers without stopping. Mari starts with easy exercises, so everyone can follow. She focuses on core strength and getting warm from the inside and out. Mari continues to guide through a session of walking, running and rebound. The tempo will become more intense the further we go. She continues with giving tasks based on rhythm and to listen to the music and become the music.
At the end of the class Mari teaches a phrase or we do a longer task related session together.
Maris focus is to play and research together with the dancers and the aim is to connect to the pleasure of moving.
Dansehallerne (DK), Danscentrum (SV) and PRODA (NO) are all institutions that offer training for professional dance artists.
In week 11, 12 and 13 2022, a pilot project will be carried out for increased collaboration between each organisation’s teaching program with the intention to share knowledge and increase sustainability.
Within the framework of this new Nordic co-operation, an artist/ teacher is selected from each country to rotate between Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen in a 3-week teaching tour. The tour is woven into each organisation’s regular programming and will enrich the participants experience by getting to know new teaching methods and
cultures while widening their current network. This idea came from our urge to contribute to a well-functioning and sustainable ecosystem for dance by offering longer periods per assignments and choosing touring by train over
flying. The curated dance teachers and artists are:
Xiri Tara Noir (DK) w11, Mari Carrasco (SE) w12 and Hanna Filomen Mjåvatn (NO) w13
We encourage you to continue looking after yourself & each other, and will no longer check corona passes at training, only your tickets;)
Thank you Nordisk Kulturfond for supporting this pilot project!
