Janne Kristensen
Your Space + My Space = Our Space

How should ‘Our Space’ be created?

We have invited Janne W. Kristensen, who is the artistic director of the Association for Integrated Modern Dance in Denmark (FIMD), to set the topic and facilitate this Peer to Peer.

Janne has invited Eik Leknesund Elnes, Toke Broni Stranby and Cath Borch Jensen to a conversation about space – the choreographic, sensuous, bounded, architectural, warped and inaccessible space!

The four artists invite everyone with an interest in dance, art, philosophy, pedagogy and architecture to a dialogue about how we now, and in the future, create space for all types of people and movement.

Bring your views and ideas, and let’s talk about the possibilities for a joint future in dancing, sensual and public spaces.

What is Peer to Peer?
Peer to Peer is a series of artist-driven conversations focusing on professional sharings about dance, choreography, and its impact. You will meet colleagues in a facilitated yet casual space. Peer to Peer is about getting closer to your community and being curious about what is happening in the field – and with each other.

The invited artists will set the different topics and facilitate the conversations. The specific program for each event will be announced during the season.

We start by meeting for half an hour of informal chat and something to drink. Then we continue with the facilitated part by the invited guest(s) of the day. After the event, it is possible to hang out and continue the conversations.

This season Peer to Peer takes place at Huset-KBH (Balsalen), Rådmandsstræde 13, 1466 Copenhagen K, 1st floor beside Spisehuset

The topic and format are chosen by the invited artist in collaboration with Dansehallerne. How you choose to participate in the conversations is up to you.

We meet approximately twice a month, and the event is in English. You do not need to sign up – just show up.

If you have questions or ideas for the Peer to Peer program please write to Dansehallerne, Anna Katrine Korning, akk@dansehallerne.dk.

Ágnes Grélinger | Dance Matters

Peer to Peer | September 14 | 5 – 7 PM | Huset-KBH

“Dance matters” is the title for the first of the Peer to Peer conversations this fall and is facilitated by Ágnes Grélinger.

The topic for the conversation stems from life events that happened early summer of 2022 after a period of questioning: Why do I/we dance and why does it matter now, today? What is the material we are working with?

“Encountering different ways of sharing the joy, beauty, and depth of dance; its power to create universes, shared spaces of safety, reflection, and existence, I decided to invite 3 very different practitioners, who held much needed inspiration to fall in love with dancing, again.”

Grélinger has invited the peers Luca Borsos (HU), Lara Vejrup Ostan (SLO/DK), and Marie Kaae (DK) to share their experiences and thoughts about the topic.

After the conversations about why dance matters, we’ll end the event with a common ritual as an initiation for the coming season.

What is Peer to Peer?

Peer to Peer is a series of events focusing on professional sharings and conversations about dance, choreography, and its impact. You will meet colleagues in a facilitated yet casual space, where we share knowledge and are curious about what is happening in the field – and with each other.
During the season, we address different topics, and the individual events are facilitated by one or more invited artists.

We start by meeting for half an hour of informal conversation and something to drink in the café. Then we continue with presentations with invited guest(s) of the day. After the event, it is possible to continue the conversations in the café, where you can buy something to eat.

The topic and format are chosen by the invited artist in collaboration with Dansehallerne. How you choose to participate in the event is up to you.

We meet approximately twice a month, and the event is in English. You do not need to sign up – just show up. However, there is only room for 40 participants so the spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the evening itself.

In the autumn Peer to Peer will take place from 5-7 pm in Huset-KBH, Balsalen (1st floor next to Spisehuset), Rådhusstræde 13, 1466 Copenhagen.

Further information about the meeting will be communicated in advance on Dansehallerne’s website, Facebook and Instagram.

We regularly collect relevant topics and inspiration for the program, so feel free to send an email to producer Anna Katrine, akk@dansehallerne.dk, if you have any suggestions.
