Anastajia Olescuka
Hip Hop Dance. Rock, Groove & Bounce

In the morning training with Anastajia one can expect to explore within practices I have applied to my practice within Hip Hop dance. We most definitely will be bouncing our heads and rocking bodies to music, feeling the drums, swinging hips and working with different ways of using footwork and moving across the space. The work will be both individual as well as in groups, touching on ways we communicate and exchange with each other, for ex.: “1 on 1 exchange” or “a cypher” (depending on the amount of people in the class). Firstly, we will work on 3 basic foundations: groove, bounce and rock; as full body and mind expressions as well as exploring how these foundations move different parts of our bodies from head to feet. Secondly, we will be working with different chest and hip movements, body rolls & directions, always adding the precious “bounce”. Anastajia will also share some creative and exploratory exercises and how I apply elements of my life experiences in my dance. The level is open, Anastajia will give opportunity to each one to either try a more complicated system or stay with basic ideas. Anastajia would prefer people wearing sneakers but it’s also up to everyone how they want to train. Regarding footwork, we would suggest shoes. Music is an important part of our class, therefore, it is a big plus if you like Hip Hop music and drums.

Anastajia is looking forward to getting down with you 🙂

How to get there?
Zen 1 is located on third floor, please use the backstairs to access the studio. Go in via the main entrance on first floor, keep going straight ahead towards the changing rooms next to the climbing area on the first floor, open the door in the far end and go up the stairs until you arrive on the third floor. Zen 1 is through the door on your right side.

Accessibility requires a little extra preparation. The studios are equipped for wheelchair users. It is possible to use the lift for access up to the 3rd floor. If you wish to use this, please let us know in advance, as the studio you have to go through via the lift is sometimes booked.
