Dance and vocal artist, Justin F. Kennedy, as an extension of their “Fashion Western” workshop at Dansehallerne, will share their practice of Auto-mythologizing and how the material generated translates into lucid science fiction operas. Auto-mythologizing continues a line of research about durational dance and the experience and analysis of altered states of consciousness and its further translatability into live performance.

These emergent mythologies inform and are folded into pre-existing science fictions and lay the foundation for rock operas, as well as a deeper relation to the materials. 

Justin’s work reclaims the value of a-live experience that disrupts notions of individual authorship, in favour of collaboration that expands towards, with, and for others. 

Justin will be accompanied by their long-time collaborator: dancer/artist, Cassie Augusta Jørgensen, who will help them to co-facilitate an informal chit-chat amongst (girl)friends about their methodology.
