‘Frost is a transformation of the most beautiful’ (Information) 5. - 13. november 2010 / Tues – Thurs 11 a.m. + 8 p.m. / Fri 8 p.m. / Sat 5 p.m. + 8 p.m. / Store Carl Danish Dance Theatre / Tina Tarpgaard FROST Re-premiere of Tina Tarpgaard’s colossal success from fall 2009 with dancers from Danish Dance Theatre.
New use of infra-red light technology opens the possibility to experience contemporary dance with different poetic eyes. In an interaction between movements of the bodies and the computer manipulated ‘ live shootings’ a new form of contemporary dance which plays with time, space and movement is created.
Frost starts from the physical presence and the seductive energy which the charismatic and individual dancers of Danish Dance Theatre are able to get across to the audience. This energy is contrasted with our urge to freeze the moment, stop the pulsating energy and give room to reflection and memory.
Frost is a story of movements that develop, blur, are commented on, and manipulated by the dancers themselves. A landscape of moments in the contrast between the frozen movement and the warm intensity of the dancing. A ‘visual music’ where the dancers’ bodies and dynamic are intensified by the sharply defined and almost organically living graphics.
"Eminent, ideal, imaginative, poetic, humoristic, enchanting spectacular" (Berlingske Tidende)
